LOCATION
Our self-catering cottage is located between the bustling towns of Kewick and Cockermouth and just outside of the picturesque village of Bassenthwaite, with uninterrupted views of Bassenthwaite Lake and the Northern Fells of the Lake District. It's the perfect base for exploring the surrounding area.
HOW TO GET HERE
From Penrith/Keswick
Turn off the M6 at Penrith (Junction 40).Travel on the A66 (Westbound) towards Keswick for approximately 15 miles until you reach the roundabout signposted for the A591 to Carlisle, take the 3rd exit onto the A591.
Continue along the A591 for approximately 4 miles, immediately after you pass Parker Gate on the left hand side, make a right onto the lane signposted for Orthwaite (the blue High Side Farmhouse and a pink house will be on your right). High House Barn is the fourth driveway up the lane on the left signposted High House on the slate slab.

From Carlisle
Leave Carlisle on the A591 heading towards Cockermouth. Continue for approximately 18 miles.
Turn left on to the A591 at Bothel, signposted Keswick. Continue straight on that road for a further 7 miles. Approximately 1 mile after signs for the village of Bassenthwaite, make a sharp left on the lane signposted for Orthwaite (you will see a pink house and blue High Side Farmhouse). High House Barn is the fourth house up the lane on the left signposted High House on the slate slab.
