Welcome to High House Barn! We are extremely proud to welcome you to this incredibly special place in the midst of the glorious Lake District National Park. Perhaps more than any other "locals" we appreciate the peace, beauty and tranquility of this unique corner of England since we grew up in Brooklyn, New York City! Our friends and families laugh that our current neighbors are mostly sheep and the resident owl is the one who makes the most noise after dark! But now that we live here we wouldn't have it any other way as we truly feel at home here amoung the lakes and fells. We originally moved to the UK in 2013 and have lived in the Lake District since 2020 after dreaming of living here during our annual family holidays. It is lovely to live where we used to come to escape from it all and because of this we are passionate about helping our guests make amazing Lake District memories!

High House Barn and High House are the result of years of hard work and a determined vision to carefully transform a traditional Lake District farmhouse and converted barn into a eco-friendly modern functional home and bespoke luxury holiday accomodation. We have personally refinished every single exposed wooden beam, have repaired and painted each and every wonky wall and have installed the most efficient floor surfaces to conduct heat through our ground source heat pump (oft times creatively because old homes and barns are not always square!). We are incredibly proud of how we have sympathetically converted and restored these beautiful old buildings and we cannot wait to share the beauty of The Barn and its surroundings with our guests.
